H&M Standard: ‘You’re Failing Us’

Town leaders claim their district councillor is “failing” them after not doing enough to secure the area’s future.

Sarah Candy has been slammed by Harwich Town Council for not pushing through with plans to regenerate Harwich & Dovercourt. Councillors unanimously demanded information from Tendring leader Neil Stock on Mrs Candy, who is portfolio holder for regeneration.
Harwich Councillor Ivan Henderson said Mrs Candy was supposed to ask Tendring’s Cabinet for for funding to get in a position to bid for Government grants.
He said: “Tendring Council needs to have a consultant come in to research what the inequalities are and come up with a strategy and plans of how to address them. Until you have proof you can’t go to the Government and ask for money. Months and months go by, suggestions are made, comments are made about the lack of movement on regeneration and further job prospects and still nothing goes on….”

Harwich Town Councillor Garry Calver said Harwich would write to Neil Stock to “make him aware of the failure of his politician and make sure his portfolio holder responds”…..
