Conservatives’ disingenuous attempt to claim credit for the Waterfront

THE local Labour team were prepared to ignore the Conservatives’ disingenuous attempt to claim credit for the Waterfront as nothing more than a desperate need to fill a political leaflet.
However, now that they are saying it was Labour’s plan to build flats on the site we cannot ignore the lie.  Please check for yourself who was in charge at TDC at the time of the ‘Save Our Squirrels’ campaign in April 2007.  You will see that it was the Conservatives.
If you check even further you will find that Labour’s Garry Calver was elected to TDC in May 2007 and it was he who addressed the Planning committee on behalf of the residents and who persuaded the committee to reject the application.  Please check for yourself so that the Conservatives are not allowed to get away with this attempt to rewrite history.
