Labour’s campaign in the West Central Ward by election for Harwich Town Council begins this evening.
Labour’s team will be taking to the streets to work alongside our Labour Party candidate, Maria Fowler, and hope to meet as many residents as possible before polling day on May 10th.
Labour never takes anyone’s vote for granted and we believe it is important that the residents of West Central Ward have the opportunity to meet Maria and hear why we believe that Labour is the right choice for West Central Ward and the right choice for Harwich.
Every candidate should make a point of seeking to speak to you before polling day and, hopefully, once you have heard from all of them you will agree with us that Maria is the right person to represent West Central Ward on Harwich Town Council.

Maria Fowler will always put Harwich’s needs first and, if elected, will be a hard working addition to Labour’s team on Harwich Town Council.
Maria Fowler understands why local services and facilities are so important to the people of Harwich. She grew up here using the local schools, hospital pubs, clubs and playing fields. She remembers when people travelled to Harwich to work and when the shops were full and bustling.
Maria attended St Josephs RC Primary School and the Harwich School before working for various shipping and transport agents. She left DFDS in the 1990s to start a career in the civil service and is now seen at most local community events helping local organisations to promote what they do by providing their photographs.
Maria has always had a keen interest in photography and all things technical as well as a love of film, music and everything to do with the sea and ships. Maria wants to see our town once again become the thriving, vibrant community she knew as a child. If elected, Maria promises to help Harwich Town Council to provide a strong voice for Harwich and the residents of West Central Ward.
